Connect to HubSpot

Link your HubSpot account so Relay can create and update contacts, and log every voice note as a note on their timeline.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • A Relay account you're signed into (guest mode can't connect a CRM — see Setting up Relay).
  • A HubSpot account with permission to connect apps for the hub you want to use.

When you connect, Relay requests permission to:

  • Read your existing HubSpot contacts, so it can match voice notes to the right person.
  • Create and update contacts.
  • Add notes to a contact's timeline.

Connect your account

1

Open Connectors

From the Relay home screen, tap ⚙ Settings, then Connectors.

2

Tap Connect on HubSpot

Find HubSpot in the list and tap Connect. A secure sign-in window opens inside Relay.

3

Log in and choose your hub

Sign in with your HubSpot credentials. If you have access to more than one HubSpot account, pick the one you want Relay to use.

4

Review and allow access

HubSpot shows the permissions Relay is requesting. Tap Connect app to approve them.

5

You're connected

Relay returns you to the app automatically. HubSpot now shows as Connected, and Relay begins syncing your existing contacts in the background — no further setup needed.

What happens after connecting

Once HubSpot is connected, every voice note that matches a contact:

  • Pushes the contact's name, phone, email, and company to HubSpot if they've changed.
  • Adds the note to that contact's timeline in HubSpot.

If a voice note doesn't match anyone in your contacts, Relay asks you to confirm or create the contact yourself — nothing is created in HubSpot automatically. Once you save it, that new contact is pushed to HubSpot the same way.

Disconnecting HubSpot

Go to ⚙ SettingsConnectorsHubSpot and tap Disconnect. This revokes Relay's access and removes the HubSpot contacts Relay had synced — your contacts and notes already in HubSpot itself are not affected.

Troubleshooting

The first attempt lands on HubSpot's dashboard instead of connecting

If you weren't already logged into HubSpot, the sign-in window can land you on HubSpot's own dashboard instead of returning to Relay. Close that window and tap Connect again — since you're now logged in, it goes straight to the approval screen and completes normally.

I don't see HubSpot in my Connectors list

HubSpot is rolling out gradually. If it's missing from your list, reach out through Support and we'll look into access for your account.

HubSpot shows as disconnected

Relay refreshes your HubSpot connection automatically in the background. If it ever shows as disconnected, simply repeat the steps above to reconnect — your synced contacts and notes are unaffected.

Note
Relay never creates or edits a HubSpot contact in the background. Every push happens because you confirmed a match or saved a new contact in the app.
